Advertising for the ‘Common Man’

 

KSMCA being a Government Enterprise and catering to Government Bodies has an enviable task of communicating mainly to the general public about the Government’s programmes, schemes, schemes, projects and so on. It is vital to ensure that the communication is informative yet distinctive.

 

The greater task is to involve the public and keep them interested. To be of help in times of distress like the recent COVID Pandemic by conveying the message not to panic which was extremely important and reassurance through the various measures undertaken by the Government. During natural disasters like floods by providing information on the where and how to avail relief packages or information on the different steps taken by the authorities for relief measures.

 

The other challenge is to work the message to fit the medium. Given the explosion in media choices it is imperative that the message is apt for the medium as there is a possibility that the message may be lost in the crowd.

With infotainment the buzz word and a host of opportunities at the fingertips of the consumers the onus is on communicator to connect in an effective manner.
